- 3D Animation -
This is my Studio 1 school project which captured my exploration of femininity, transformation, and self-liberation through 3D animation.
I was interested in strong femininity and the concept of breaking free from constraints. Later, I expanded this by asking: How can a character’s personality be expressed through gesture, appearance, and rhythm without a backstory? I also wanted to explore how environment can metaphorically reflect a character’s inner world.
To reflect these inquiries, I focused heavily on gesture and rhythm, some derived from motion capture and others hand-keyed. I used crystals growing on the character’s body to represent scars, the imperfections that hold beauty and meaning. The lighting and cage setting became metaphors for her emotional journey, creating a space that is both protective and fragile.
